Research Interests
My research interests lie mainly in social and personality development, and its socialization (by parents, teachers, and peers), during childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood, with particular attention to contextual (cultural, historical, and socioeconomic) influences. My current work concerns specifically parental emotion socialization, parental involvement in children's learning, academic and socioemotional adjustment, self and identity development, and moral and civic development among children and youth. It is hoped that my research will not only fill in the gaps in the scholastic understanding of child and youth development, but also serve the needs of the society to promote child and youth well-being.
