Professor Hong's main research interests include culture and cognition, identity, intergroup relations, decision making, and cultural neuroscience. She has done research on a wide range of topics which are closely linked to people’s daily life (e.g., Hong Konger identity, investment decision, creativity and innovation). She has also used a wide range of methods (e.g., behavioral games, reaction time experiments, and neuroimaging) to understand the psychology of people from different cultural background.
